The security of your website is of utmost importance, and there may be times when you need to block certain IP addresses. This could be due to a harmful bot or simply an IP address trying to sneak into your WordPress admin area. It’s a common scenario, but thankfully, cPanel’s GUI (Graphical User Interface) provides a tool called the IP Deny Manager.
The IP Deny Manager allows users to block IPs as well as domain names. If you need to block a certain or bulk number of IPs, cPanel can help you do it in the following method:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Navigate to Security > IP Blocker.
- Enter an IP address or a range of IPs you wish to block in the ‘IP Address or Domain’ box.
- Finally, click on the ‘Add’ button.
Once any IP address or domain name is added to this list, they won’t be able to access your WordPress admin area.
